Our Story

The family-owned and operated Wonton Food was founded by Mr. C. S. Wong, born in China’s Guangdong province and came to the United States in the 1960s. Mr. Wong started manufacturing noodles in the basement of a small street level store in New York City’s Chinatown in 1973. With only ten employees and a single production line, Wonton Food continued to grow.

Forty years later, Wonton Food Inc. is the largest manufacturer of noodles, wrappers, and fortune cookies in the United States. Our operations have expanded to include plants in New York, Texas, and Tennessee and our company’s products are enjoyed both across the U.S. and internationally.

 

We credit our original mission statement to our growth and maintain it to this day.

All of our products are Kosher. Noodles, Wrappers and Crispy Chow Mein Noodles are supervised by the OU, Fortune Cookies are supervised by KOF-K.

All of our Wonton Food Products are widely used in Restaurants & Institutions Nationwide. Our selection of Noodles, Fried Wonton Strips, Fortune Cookies and Wrappers makes choosing a popular item very difficult. Try them all and you decide.

To ensure food safety, we have established a (HACCP) program that is in full compliance with the industry standards. Our company participates in the strictest of inspections, from both the US Government Agencies and our valued customers. We also maintain a top notch Quality Assurance Department that has been formally trained and hold HACCP certifications. We are regularly audited by our customers, and independent third party firms such as Silliker Labs & NSF consistently scoring a 'Superior' rating.

A cross functional committee has been established to develop and continually improve our HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) based SQF (Safe Quality Food) food safety and quality management system to comply with present and potential customers, and the latest regulatory requirements. We also recognize that companywide commitment and involvement is the key to our success.

 

Facilities

Our Brooklyn, NY facility is home of the Corporate Headquarters for Wonton Food Inc. This production facility houses our research & development laboratory, pilot scale production line, fully equipped test kitchen and QA testing facilities. Wonton Food currently maintains and manages several large production areas, dry, refrigerated and frozen storage facilities throughout our Manufacturing locations. Wonton Food also operates several other manufacturing facilities throughout the United States that service the South East, Mid-West and West Coast Markets.
